Wayne Oulaghan - Analytical Chemist, New Plymouth
Wayne began work in the dairy industry as laboratory manager at Hawkes Bay Milk Corporation where he worked for 5 yrs before joining the old Ministry Agriculture & Fisheries in their New Plymouth laboratory. He spent about 17 yrs at MAF in various positions, as technical officer in the laboratory, as quality assurance consultant and auditor to dairy company laboratories throughout New Zealand, and as laboratory manager
When the laboratory in New Plymouth was closed Wayne moved to Taranaki Polytechnic (now WITT) as a tutor in the science department. At the polytechnic he taught chemistry, laboratory technology and food science and developed and taught on courses for the dairy industry. He joined Zelam Ltd when the science department at WITT closed.
Wayne is married to Margaret and they have 3 sons, all living in London. For relaxation Wayne enjoys sailing, listening to music and a good book - although usually not all at once.
