Gordon Harris - TS&D Manager - Ag, Hawkes Bay

Gordon is responsible for the technical information on Zelam products used in the agricultural and horticultural fields. He also manages the development of new label claims for existing products. His location in Hawkes Bay is ideal, "I live in the midst of the most diverse food producing area in the country with sub tropical fruits to winter sown wheat all within a three hour drive" claims Gordon. Leading up to his move to Zelam in 2003 Gordon had spent 17 years as a technical officer and manager with ICI and Crop Care also in Hawkes Bay.

His broad experience in crop protection comes on the back of a rural upbringing near Tauranga and five years at Massey University gaining a batchelors degree in Agricultural Science. Having previously owned a 200 acre dry stock farm and currently owning a 33 acre cropping and orchard block on the Heretaunga plains has given him an affinity with the land and a certain empathy toward farmers and orchardists alike. Outside work Gordon referees senior football and tries to squeeze a road bike ride into most weeks. Being married and having four very active children aged twelve to eighteen means there is always something happening in the Harris household.
